Ron Howard’s RUSH Preview

You may have heard about this film and thought…” There is no way they will pull it off.” or maybe even; ” Ron Howard’s making a F1 movie…NO WAY!” This movie has loomed in the imaginations of many automotive enthusiasts as a mirage. No one believed the spy photos and even small YouTube clips would add up to this movie being anything more than a CG heavy American perspective on  F1. Judging by this behind the scenes trailer we found, Ron Howard is putting his chips on the table and as he put it, “I really do want Formula One fans to feel respected…”. Check out the trailer, and if your blood doesn’t start pumping, you clearly have no soul.

One thing we would like to know is how much of this “reasonable budget” was actually spent on the vehicles themselves (tires, fuel, mechanics, transport, etc.).

2012 Motion Auto Show Coverage

Automotive Styles kicked off the SoCal summer show circuit with our Fiat 500 project car at the 6th annual Motion Auto Show.  We were invited to show our car with the coolest group of people we have ever met, the 1UP Crew.

We put staff photographer Robert Hardin and Automotive Styles intern Cameron Ford to work on getting the best images they could from the show. We even gave Robert the task of getting as many models as he could to come kiss or pose with our logo on the Fiat. See how successful he was in our OFFICIAL AUTOMOTIVE STYLES FLICKR GALLERY.

Thank you to all our sponsors and fans for following us on our Instagram feed (@autostyles) during the event! We look forward to the next show…WEK|FEST June 2nd!

TAB Tuesday (5/15/2012)

California plays host to some of the hottest trends to invade the automotive culture space. So it comes as no surprise that the food truck revolution decided to join forces with the custom car crowds of Southern California. TAB (Take A Break) Tuesday started about a year ago and has been growing by leaps and bounds. Bringing the best in food truck cuisine to the best daily driven cars in the SoCal Basin. This event was highly anticipated because the coveted Motion Auto Show in Long Beach was coming up that Sunday (Coverage coming soon). Fans of all ages and interests showed up to down a Dogzilla, flog thier R/C drift cars and enjoy time with friends and cars. You couldn’t really ask for anything more, besides shorter lines at the trucks! See you at the next one. Thank you to Robert Hardin for snapping the photos.

Automotive Styles Fiat 500 Project Update

Its been a while since we have updated you all on the progress of our Fiat 500 Project Car. Since SEMA we have had the joy of working with amazing new sponsors like 500 Madness, Megan Racing and BLACK. Last night staff photographer, Robert Hardin and I decided to set up the new Megan Racing Coilover Suspension for the proper show stance. We achieved a 3″ drop all the way around and got our Fiat 500 sitting pretty on her new set of white Team Dynamics  Racing Wheels. 500 Madness not only hooked us up with the new rims but also provided us with a complete BLACK interior upgrade kit; including a new satin gunmetal grey and satin black weighted shift knob, black leather with orange stitching e-brake boot, rear hatch leather pull down strap upgrade and finally a killer set of aluminium racing pedals. We will have more pictures as the week progresses.

Why all the new parts you ask? Automotive Styles will be hitting up some of the hottest car shows Southern California has to offer, including Motion Autoshow this Sunday in Long Beach, CA. Come check out the Fiat showing with the 1UP crew. See you all there! (Scroll down to see how you can save $$$ on your ticket!)

Carroll Shelby 1923-2012

Another legend has gone to the giant race track in the sky today. Carroll Shelby, the All-American Man who sought out to give the Europeans a run for their money passed away today. It has been a joy to be surrounded by such power on a daily basis. From the Cobras to the Mustangs and even a few Daytonas, Shelby has permanently left his mark on the dreams of many car lovers who strive to own a slice of his legacy. God Speed Mr. Shelby, I hope to share a drink in heaven and finally meet face to face.

Bellissima.

The word that described this year’s Ferrari Concorso on Colorado Boulevard in lovely Old Town Pasadena. The endless sea of Italian Stallions calling out to onlookers with their beautiful color, rich smell of leather and exquisite details was a cool refresher for the scorching sunday this May. This was a great show for all ages, from the young children to those young at heart. To see these cars definitely was exciting. On top of the Dinos and Testarossas, the popular Modenas and 430s were side by side some of the rarest Ferraris in the world. Even a few party crashers made it on the main tarmac; McClaren, Aston Martin and Rolls Royce were some of the culprits.
